TALK ABOUT THEIR MOTHER : landreya, a former asari commando turned banker, presently lives outside nos astra, on illium, with her krogan partner. they get along well enough, particularly when erimita isn't getting into too much trouble, although landreya can hardly fault her daughter for being every bit a magnet for trouble as she is, and equally stubborn to boot. (shortly following melena's birth, landreya is killed in the last days of the reaper war, defending less combat-capable asari on illium. having already lost the krogan who fathered her, baby mel is effectively an orphan and so defaults to be being raised by her mother's matriarch and her followers. looking for news of her mother, erimita learns that only her half-sister has survived the invasion and opts to take her to raise as a daughter. mel, as she ages, is kind-hearted but stubborn and infinitely better at expressing happiness than erimita could ever be.) WHERE DID THEY GROW UP? pandeera, a (created entirely off the top of my head) desert city in the upper northern hemisphere of illium. the population there, like most of illium, was predominately asari when she was growing up, although a number of turians took advantage of the climate to live there as well, and anywhere those two can be found, so can salarians and the odd member of other races. she lived with her mother in traditional asari housing, commune style, in a spacious and elegant complex owned by their matriarch. her mother stayed there until after erimita moved out for school, so it was very much the home of her youth. WAS THEIR CHILDHOOD HAPPY? TROUBLED? DULL? DOES THE CHARACTER REMEMBER IT ACCURATELY? by erimita's standards, her childhood was a textbook ordinary asari upbringing, with the standard amount of innocent joy, art appreciation, dull ceremonial moments, and sense of community. in truth, there was always a great deal more questionable business going on in the background than she knew until she was much older, but such is the nature of illium. her matriarch and other followers she was raised around would claim little mitia to be a relatively joyless child, but her memories of happiness, expressed or not, are unshakeable.
